To a city where virtually every Cuban institution has been transplanted, comes La Bodeguita del Medio, Havana's most famous watering hole. Founded by Angel Martínez in 1942, originally as a grocery store (bodega) and hence the name, the bar-restaurant rose to legendary status after the literati and international stars who visited sang the praises of its potent mojitos and added to the Bohemian atmosphere with their writing and photos on the walls. Miami's version has a strong, but limited menu of Cuban favorites, plus live music and dancing -- and did we mention mojitos?
