The best pizza in South Florida is made in Hialeah -- really! Check out DiPiazza at 1414 W. 49th Street, where brothers Frankie and Sal have been making cheesy, New York style pies for over 30 years. My husband swears they make the best Italian sausage and peppers he's had anywhere.

I got on a down elevator at the Ritz Carlton South Beach with Snoop Dogg who was all tricked out in his rap gear but deeply engrossed in the Wall St. Journal. The setting is intimate, the view is wonderful, the food is good and the service is great. It's a little pricey, but for a special occasion I'd definitely recommend the River House in Fort Lauderdale.
